Endy Mattress Overview

Endy was founded in 2015 to change the way Canadians sleep. It is an all-foam mattress with a streamlined design. It also contains Endy Foam, a unique soft-yet-responsive alternative to memory foam. Endy is from Canada and produces all of their mattresses their, through reputation they have become one of the biggest bed-in-a-box retailers in Canada.

How are the Mattresses Made?

The Endy and Emma are both built entirely of foam, though that doesn’t mean they’re going to feel the same! Endy relies mostly on its proprietary Endy foam whereas Emma has Airgocell® foam. These distinct foams are able to set each mattress apart from other comparable products on the market.

EMMA 

Cover – First, Emma’s cover regulates the climate, allowing air to flow through throughout the night. This also mitigates the overheating that can sometimes be associated with memory foam.

Comfort Layer –The top layer is the Airgocell® foam layer previously mentioned, which adapts to pressure and movement. This layer accounts for motion-isolation and mitigates the sinkage feeling that is sometimes caused by pure memory foam mattresses.

Transition Layer – The next layer of the Emma mattress is a visco-elastic memory foam layer. This layer provides the classic memory foam feel that is so popular throughout the mattress industry. This layer evenly distributes body pressure and provides significant comfort.

Base Layer – The base of the Emma mattress is made of an HRX material layer. This layer acts as the main support for the mattress as well as the sleeper. It accounts for pressure relief and spinal alignment to ensure a supported sleep.

ENDY

Endy mattress has three foam layers: a comfort layer of 3 PCF polyfoam, a transitional layer of 1.8 PCF high-density polyfoam, and a support core of 1.8 high-density polyfoam. The mattress also has a cover made from a blend of polyester and spandex. It measures 10″ thick

Comfort layer– The comfort layer is made from 2-inch Endy Foam, that is an open-cell memory foam designed especially for a cooling effect and pressure relief. This material allows for some immediate, cozy comfort as the sleeper sinks into the section. It’s worth noting that the open-cell nature of the layer helps to mitigate some of the overheating tendencies of memory foam.

Transition layer-Beneath the Endy Foam you’ll find a layer of 3-inch poly foam. This material is firmer than the one above it, allowing the sleeper to gradually transition from the gentle comfort layer into the foundation. This also helps to remove some of the sinkage of the top section because of its high density.

Base layer-This is a high density 5-inch polyurethane support foam. This foundation layer is meant to provide the proper support to promote a neutral spine alignment.

Emma vs. Endy Firmness

The Emma mattress ranks about a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. Memory foam mattresses are traditionally softer than other types of mattresses. However, we ranked the Emma as a medium-firm mattress, as the blend of different types of foams prevents too much sinkage. If you push your hand into an Emma mattress you will notice a soft feel but one that bounces back quicker than the traditional memory foam mattresses. Endy we can put in the same category as Emma if we discuss firmness.

Sleepers that prefer to relax on their back will enjoy the Emma and Endy, as it distributes weight evenly and provides a comforting feel as well. For Combination-sleepers Emma and Endy would work for you! If you are a Stomach or Side sleeper then Emma is for you.

Emma vs. Endy Motion Transfer

The Emma mattress does exhibit anti-motion transfer qualities common to memory foam mattresses. The memory foam layer, in combination with the Airgocell® foam layer combat motion well. Thus, with the Emma mattress, it is unlikely that you will be disturbed by your partner’s movements throughout the night.

The Endy performed good as well, especially for a bed-in-a box mattress. The motion felt isn’t so much or so little that you could not sense if someone is sleeping on one side of the bed. Because of that, it shouldn’t hinder your decision about this mattress, so couples would likely be fine with this bed.

Key Differences between Emma and Endy

While both of these bed-in-a-box mattresses are all foam, there are a few things that set them apart from each other

Type of Foam – Emma constructs their mattress using a blend of Airgocell foam, memory foam, and HD poly foam. On the other hand, Endy uses their own proprietary foam on top of a layer of HD polyfoam. This gives each mattress a unique feel and will benefit different types of sleepers in different ways.

Height – Both Endy and Emma offer a 3 layer all foam mattress. However, the Emma Mattress stands 12″ high compared to the 10″ Endy Mattress. While the height boost may not seem like that big of a deal, it really adds additional support. In our opinion, Emma really goes the extra mile in terms of comfort and added support when compared to the Endy.

Price Comparison

Verdict: The Emma is the best of its kind

When first testing these mattresses, we thought that we will get really similar results, because looking at it, they are quite similar. But differences in foam and height in the mattresses made a big difference! Our final decision is that Emma wins in this race.
